Williams was an Executive Producer who worked for Action News on ABC at 11 and Action News at 10. He began his career in telecasting in the year 1977 when he was still a pupil who studied at Ohio State University. After that, he started an internship at WOSU, a radio outlet, and in a Public Broadcasting TV which is in Ohio. After completing his graduation, Rick was employed by WOSU. He was working for WPVI-YV in the year 1982 but after some days, he received a call from Action News where he introduced his career in Philadelphia.

In the month of April 2015, he became executive producer for Action News at 10 telecasted on PHL 17 and Action News at 11. Sadly, they never get a chance. His passing news brought a big shock to the people who knew him and to the media world as well. The Assistant News Director, Christine Bowley penned a tribute in which he states that “Life is not fair with anyone. I can’t believe that you are no more between us Rick Williams. Rest In Peace My Pal.”
