Billy was born on the 8th of October, 1928, his real name was Walter Fredrick Geroge Williams but he acquired his stage name and changed it to Bill Maynard. In his early 20s, Billy began working in the Television industry and he initiated his role in Terry Scott in Great Scott-It’s Maynard. This series ran for one year until 1956 starting in 1955. Later he appeared in a Sitcom series called Oh NO It’s Selwyn Froggitt. He was also cast in another series called The gaffer and in five films of carrying on Series. After he took off for a while more like a hiatus from Tv series, he appeared again in a Series called Heartbeat which ran for eight years from 1992 to 2000. He was again cast in the Heartbeat spin-off series called The Royal from the year 2002 to 2003.

Billy was born in Farnham, Surrey but his family moved to Leicestershire. He got his early education from Kibworth Beauchamp Grammar school. Billy was married to Muriel Linnett on the 5th of August 1949 and he shared two children with Muriel, after which she died in 1983. Of the two children, one of them is called Maynard Williams who is a musician by profession. After 5 years of Muirels’ death, Billy married Tonia Bern and after being in a relationship for 11 years the two of them got divorced and separated. Billy stayed single after that.
