What Happened In San Antonio, Texas?
According to sources, the tractor-trailer was taken in a suspected migrant smuggling attempt. According to one report, the migrant’s bus was abandoned in between the road. According to another report, the people were illegal immigrants or were unauthorized immigrants who were moved to the USA. The police department of San Antonio shared the horrific tragedy details on Monday. According to a Facebook post that was released by Chief William P.McManus, that was through a live press conference, it was even said that the first call to the police was received around 5:30 pm and they were informed that the first response to the survivors heard a scream from the area and then they came out for the investigations. The first responder when reached the bus, he found that there were 46 dead individuals inside the truck and the door was partially opened.

Among the rescued, there were 12 adults and 4 children. Three people were taken into custody but it was not made clear about their relationship with the deaths. According to the fire department, they were called with a report that there was only one dead but when they checked up on the area and the truck, they found several dead bodies inside the truck. Chief Hood said that the bodies when touched were too hot and it was clear that the people who have died suffered the scorching heat as there was no sign of water inside the truck. It was also revealed that there was no gap for ventilation in the truck. The fire department officers were terrified when they saw the dead bodies. One of the stated, that we were not supposed to open up the truck and see stacks of dead bodies and none of us came to work imagining that.
How Did 46 Migrants Found Dead Inside Tractor-Trailer?
According to the reports and the officials working at the site, it was not clear how the people were taken illegally and how they were abandoned. It was also not clear how many people were inside and how many escaped from the truck. Still, the police are investigating the illegal immigrants and the dead person’s details as well. The survivors were taken in different vehicles to different hospitals the officials as well were not prepared to face that many bodies at a time. Back in 2019, a similar case occurred where people were found dead inside a truck and the victims suffered suffocation and hypothermia.
