After selling his company Darrell contributed to the development and or the betterment of Black entrepreneurs who are opting to start up their businesses. Darrell was 57 years old at the time of his death. Apart from being a self-made entrepreneur and having 20 million dollars at his hand to help others, Darrell invested millions of dollars in the development and providing Black young and disadvantaged entrepreneurs education and for the development of their businesses as well. Many people were heartbroken when they heard about the death of Darrell, and they sent condolences to his family of Darrell. Michael Carter his business partner of Darrell responded to the death news and said that he couldn’t believe what he heard. He said my dear business partner passed away yesterday and I couldn’t believe it.

Carter and Darrell have been together for more than a decade now and they have been business partners for more than a decade. The statement that was released by the family of Darrell stated, that our beloved husband and father died because of severe illness and he passed away on the 28th of June 2022. The family members of Darrell asked for privacy and prayers. While speaking about Darrell Carter said that he trying to cope with the loss, but he doesn’t know how to deal with the loss that he is facing by the loss of his business partner, and friends as well. Apart from businessman, Darrell was also the two-time chairman of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, and he also served on the MTSU board of trustees and as the vice-chairperson as well.

MSTU university’s page also tweeted saying that they are going through a great loss and they are mourning the death of Dorrell. The statement further continues by saying that Dorrell was the brightest star from their University which never failed to shine through his works and through his accomplishments. Nash chamber president and CEO Ralph Schulz also tweeted by mentioned Darrell and said that he sent his deepest condolences to the passing of Darrell who is the former board chairperson. Ralph mentioned that while Darrell was the chairman back in the 2000s he gave much priority to education and until now he used to ease the education difficulties. Ralph described Darrell as a teacher and partner as well who is genuinely committed to the life improvement of common people.
